Bob Hewes returned from World War II looking forward to fishing with friends. He and his buddies wanted a boat of their own to take to the water; however, they couldn’t afford one. The group decided that the only way they were going to have the boat of their dreams was if they built one themselves from scrap aluminum.

Unfortunately, his friends’ interest in this weekend warrior project waned as they each found the means to acquire their own boat. Bob turned to his younger brother, Ralph, and convinced him to help construct a reliable fishing boat.

Thus began the family legacy that continues on with the second generation of Hewes. Second generation leaders, Bill and Dave, carry on the business, treating each customer like family along the way.

In a factory located in Colville, Washington, you will find Hewescraft boats being produced in different styles, catering to customers with different activities in mind.
